Bangkok Outdoor Cinema Festival 2026: Free Open-Air Movies & Live Music

The city’s favorite nostalgic pastime is back. Krungthep Klang Plang (Bangkok Outdoor Cinema Festival) returns for its 4th Edition this January, transforming iconic corners of the city into communal living rooms under the stars.

Running weekends from January 17 to February 1, 2026, the festival brings together the Thai Film Director Association and the Thai Film Archive to celebrate the magic of the silver screen—completely free of charge.

The Vibe: Nostalgia Meets Live Energy

This isn't just a movie screening; it's a full-blown cultural block party. Expect to find the air filled with the scent of street food and the sound of live music. Each evening kicks off at 5:00 PM with local craft booths and food stalls, followed by short films and the main feature at 7:00 PM. Once the credits roll, the night peaks with live concerts from top Thai acts.
