Where the hotel sits in the Em District
Emporium, EmQuartier and EmSphere stand on Sukhumvit Road either side of BTS Phrom Phong, with Benchasiri Park between them. Public House Bangkok is at 249 Soi Sukhumvit 31, the residential side street that runs north off Sukhumvit Road a few hundred metres east of the station. From the lobby, the walk to the station and to the malls is around 13 minutes; a taxi or motorbike is about three. Asok, with the BTS and MRT interchange and Terminal 21, is one stop west and a five-minute drive.
That position is the point of staying here rather than on Sukhumvit Road itself. The shopping, the food halls and the cinema are close enough to reach on foot, and the soi is quiet enough that a room with the curtains open looks at trees and low roofs, not traffic. Eat on the soi, shop at the malls
The Em District has the food halls; Sukhumvit 31 has the restaurants. Peppina, the wood-fired Neapolitan pizzeria, is 50 metres from the hotel; Appia, the Roman trattoria, 120 metres; Baan E-Sarn, an old-school northeastern Thai institution that stays open until 3 am, 100 metres; Sri Trat, coastal Thai, 200 metres; Ms. Maria & Mr. Singh, Gaggan Anand's Mexican-Indian room, 350 metres. Show your room key at selected partners for a welcome drink, a house antipasti or a dessert; the neighbourhood guide lists each benefit.
Inside the hotel, SWD serves from 7:00 AM to midnight on the Lobby Floor, with breakfast cooked to order until noon, and OPEN BAR keeps the same hours. On the roof, the swimming pool is open from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM and the gym around the clock, for hotel guests. Source: Neighbourhood guide, Eat & Drink, Gym & Pool.
Which room for a shopping stay
All 79 rooms carry the same specification: blackout curtains, a 65-inch Smart TV, high-speed WiFi, a Nespresso machine and a rain shower. What changes is space and outlook. The 28 sqm Downtown Room is the entry room for guests who will be out most of the day. The Uptown Room is the same floor area on a higher floor with a Sukhumvit city view and can be booked as a connecting room. For a family or three friends, the 34 sqm Day Dreamer Room sleeps three on a full-frame daybed rather than a fold-out. Suites start with the 55 sqm Junior Suite and its separate living area. The rooms guide compares all nine categories.
For a weekend around the Em District, the Bangkok Weekend offer adds daily breakfast, a THB 1,000 dining credit and late checkout to a stay of two nights or more, with fully flexible cancellation, for stays until 31 October 2026. Booking direct also brings guaranteed late checkout until 2:00 PM and early check-in from 7:00 AM whenever the room is ready. Source: Rooms & Suites, Public offers.
